Care Act Training
Last July I was delighted to be selected to be part of the Care and Health Law crack squad of trainers on all things Care Act. I continue to deliver Care Act training under the auspices of Care and Health Law - please contact me for more information.
In the first 6 months of 2015, I delivered 25 separate courses for approx 650 people over 33 days. Evaluation is overwhelmingly positive with 98% of feedback about my training rated as good or excellent.
My training covers any or all of the following:
- Assessment and eligibility
- Support planning
- Advocacy duties
- Links with the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act new code of practice, Deprivation of Liberty changes (protective care / supportive care)
...and key issues pertaining to these areas i.e. general duties around wellbeing, preventing reducing delaying needs, information and advice; advocacy, ordinary residence, personal budgets and direct payments.
My approach develops legal literacy within the workforce, ensuring they are actively engaged with the change in law, and that they leave confident in their understanding of their key duties under the act and able to apply this knowledge to their operational procedures.
